"Hello Red Planet" in Nepal 2010!

An observational programme was arranged by Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO) on the premises of H.B. complex, Lalitpur on 29th January, 201o from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. The date was chosen as the opposition of Mars. A part from the beauty of Mars, people also enjoyed the marvelous moon, orion nebula, pleides and other celestial bodies. Overall, "Hello Red Planet" in Nepal was a success.

Reason Karki, a student of Biratngar based Budhanilkantha Secondary School, who appeared for the SLC exam this year, is going to take part International Space Development Conference (ISDC) slated for May 28 in Florida of the USA. Karki has registered his name in National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) on Wednesday claiming that he could prove that the Law of Gravity propounded by Sir Isaac Newton and the Principle of Space Time Curvature propounded by Albert Einstein were false. He submitted 200 US dollars to get his name registered. He claimed that he has developed mathematical formulas to prove that two principles were incomplete and false. “As I informed the NASA about my formulas, my name has been selected to prove my assertions,” Karki said. Karki’s parents who belong to a middle class family said they would bear all the expenses to send their son to attend the conference. It was a cruel blow for France, who had dominated the match from and squandered a number of chances, in front of their devastated home support, who arrived at the Stade de France hoping to celebrate a third European crown. The trophy was lifted by Ronaldo, who broke down in tears at the final whistle but whose game had come to a frustrating end after 24 minutes when he was carried crying from the pitch on a stretcher with a knee injury.
